In the back seat, we see a man with a bowler hat. His name is Walter baron van Voorst tot Voorst, born on 3 January 1844. He is posing with his family in front of Huize Westerveld in Elden, the Netherlands, on the occasion of his 70th birthday. This means the picture was taken in 1914. Can anyone tell us more about the beautifully decorated car we see?

I'm not exactly sure, but to me it looks like a Mercedes, one of the smaller Knight-engined cars like a 10/30 or 16/40?

That is what I thought too. Mercedes is beyond doubt for me, certainly a small model, but the determination of the exact type I leave to the Mercedes connoisseur.
