A confidential document, viewed by PreWarCar.com, has confirmed that the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will soon see dramatic changes. President Donald Trump is to become the new owner of the Pebble Beach Golf Links and is set to implement far-reaching changes which will extend to the motoring concours which has been staged there since 1950.
Held annually in August at the California golf resort, the prestigious concours attracts car enthusiasts, collectors and celebrities from around the world and the event is widely known as a showcase for the world’s finest classic automobiles. However, with Trump taking over the venue as well as the organisation of the event, it seems that nothing will remain the same. According to sources close to the President, the intention is to make the event “Accessible to a wider audience, without compromising on the exclusivity that makes Pebble Beach so special.”
The classes in which the cars compete are also set for major changes, with vehicles restored outside the U.S.A. no longer eligible for the concours d’élégance. In co-operation with Tesla, virtual tours and digital presentations of the cars are planned, allowing people from all over the world to follow the event without being physically present. The new 2026 Tesla Roadster is already announced to make its début at the event. The same goes for the production version of the new Cadillac Eldorado coupé, dubbed "The Ultimate Luxury Car of the Future."
In addition, the rôle of sponsors and advertisers within the concours d’élégance will grow. President Trump plans to transform the famous concours into a platform for American high-end brands to promote themselves. Whether these plans will preserve the charm of Pebble Beach remains to be seen. We asked the current organisers of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance for a comment, and were informed that an official statement would be released shortly. A source at the Golf Links told us, "The President seemed very excited. He said, 'This is going to be the best concours, the greatest.'"

Update: April Fools! You guessed it right
For many readers, it was clear from the start—or perhaps a quick glance at the calendar gave it away: yes, today is April 1st. The article posted earlier was indeed an April Fools’ joke, written with a playful twist by Jeroen Booij—known around our office as one of the best in the business when it comes to crafting clever April Fools’ pranks.
Rest assured, Pebble Beach has not been taken over by Trump. The event remains in the hands of seasoned professionals—dedicated, impartial organizers and expert judges. It continues to be one of the most prestigious automotive gatherings in the world.
The 2025 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is set for August 17, and promises an exciting lineup. While American classics will be celebrated, such as the Chrysler Centennial, there will also be rich European themes, including a tribute to Invicta and the Moretti Centennial.
Plenty to look forward to—see you there!
