Three Collections, One Auction: Worldwide Auctioneers goes big

It’s no secret anymore: auctions have become the go-to way to sell impressive car collections in one fell swoop. We've seen themed auctions, exclusive collaborations with museums, and once-in-a-lifetime events. But at the end of this month – from April 25 to 26, 2025 – Worldwide Auctioneers is taking things up a notch. Not one, not two, but three entire collections will cross the auction block in a single weekend.

We’re diving into the highlights – and sharing our personal favorites from each collection.

The Passport Collection

A world tour on wheels – from American classics to refined European elegance. Brands like Auburn, Cadillac, and Mercedes-Benz are well-represented, but our pick might surprise you: it's possibly the smallest car in the lineup – the 1939 American Bantam Roadster.

The American Austin Car Company was founded in 1929 in Butler, Pennsylvania, to produce a U.S. version of the wildly popular British Austin Seven. While the car was a hit in the UK, it didn’t catch on stateside. After producing 20,000 vehicles, the company folded in 1934.

But in 1938, it got a second chance. Roy Evans revived the company under the name American Bantam Car Company, giving the cars a sleeker design and a more powerful engine. Sadly, even this reboot was short-lived: production ceased in 1940 after just 6,700 vehicles.

The 1939 Roadster being offered is a rare gem from this brief but charming chapter in automotive history – compact, full of character, and simply adorable.

The Zimmerman Collection

For 22 years, the Automobile Driving Museum in Southern California wasn’t just a place to admire vintage vehicles – it was one of the few museums where you could actually ride in them. Sadly, after the passing of its founder and the impact of the pandemic, the museum closed its doors.

A loss for the local heritage community, but a golden opportunity for collectors. Among the highlights, our favorite is the striking 1910 BSA 15/20.

While BSA motorcycles appear at auctions from time to time, a 1910 BSA car is a true rarity. Originally delivered to Melbourne, Australia, this exceptional vehicle found its way to the U.S. in the 21st century, becoming a standout in the Zimmerman Collection. As one of the few non-American cars in the sale, it absolutely deserves its moment in the spotlight.

The Great Outdoors Collection

This collection has a distinctly adventurous vibe: vehicles built to explore the world, engineered for rugged use, and styled with purpose. Think classic station wagons and bold woodies – cars with wooden body panels that evoke craftsmanship and nostalgia.

Our top pick? The beautifully restored 1939 Ford V-8 Standard Station Wagon. In pristine condition and ready for many more miles, this Ford blends timeless style with everyday functionality – a true symbol of classic American road-tripping.

Whether your heart beats faster for elegant roadsters, rare pre-war automobiles, or rugged wagons ready for adventure – this auction has something for everyone.

And that’s not all – plenty of other exciting vehicles will be up for grabs. You can explore the full offering here.
