Consisting of a very good chassis, with front and rear axles, springs, brakes, hubs, shocks and steering gear, this Fiat comes with a complete 509A engine (with repairable light frost damage), clutch, gearbox and all ancillaries, including carburettor, dynamo, starter and magneto.
The radiator is very good and has a surround. The bonnet, scuttle, two petrol tanks and the dashboard, with some instruments, are included. It also comes with two seats.
There is a spare steering column, spare engine block, sump and crank and many small items such as the hand controls and wiring loom with many of the special Fiat connectors. It also comes with a current V5C.
This is basically a complete car in dismantled form less the bulk of the bodywork ― ideal for bodying as a 509S as illustrated.
Part of the package includes a useful tools package if required and a free year’s membership of the Vintage FIAT Register, the VSCC and its Light Car Section.
If you are an enthusiastic, under-30-year-old looking for a Vintage car of your own, please write a maximum of 100 words outlining why this starter pack should be yours and send to Mike Tebbitt, LC&ES Editor, Little Wyche, Walwyn Road, Upper Colwall, MALVERN WR13 6PL.
The lucky recipient will be chosen by the Light Car & Edwardian Section Committee at the end of September.
I am very interested in your proposal. My name is Damien Marion, I am a young 22yo passionate about prewar cars (and not that much about youngtimers…).
I grew up in a family in which we always appreciated cars and which allowed me to live my passion by going to shows or events on the circuit.
Now I feel ready to take on a major project: I have just finished my studies and am starting a job.
Your offer is a real opportunity for me to access the ownership of such a project, which is often difficult to access for young people.
I would like to thank you very sincerely for your approach and wish you success.
Thanking you, DM
