1930 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Spider with complete history from delivery to first owner in 1930 in Firenze till today with copy Libretto/license plate.
Delivered on the first registration in 1930 as a 6C 1750 Spider (not a convertible but a spider without closable roof).
In 1938 taken to Eritrea (a colony from Italy) by the Italian owner (like more Italian people to escape the war) and raced on Asmara circuit. The original Libretto/license booklet from Eritrea from 1940 is with the car.
After the war there was only gasoline in Italy for goods transportation cars. So in Asmara the rear side from the spider was changed and fitted with a cargo bed.
In the late 50's the Alfa was transported to UK by an English colonel stationed in Asmara and it was stored in the UK.
In 1970 the 6C was sold to an English collector, and the car was refurbished with the body and rear end to its current condition. The owner's wife raced the spider at Donington , Silverstone etc in the 80's and 90's. See one of the photo's attached.
The UK owner had more Alfa's and many parts at that time (1970) from prewar Alfa's. As the old engine was too bad for racing a better racing engine was assembled with original compressor and Memini carburetor.
After the racing period the Alfa 6C was parked and not used for many years.
I bought the 6C in non-running condition and made it a street legal car, with original Bosch headlights, cycle wings, and buffalo leather bench (the original seats are with the 6C).
The rolling chassis with all mechanic is original from 1930, the only adjustment is new cylinder head from Jim Stokes because the old one was totally worn out. The engine with compressor runs very well with lots of power, and the open exhaust produces a great sound almost like an 8C.
The dashboard, clocks, the 4 spoke steering wheel are all original from 1930. The electric harness has been fully renewed with original materials and colors with the original old Bosch fuse boxes. The car comes with new tires , restored spoke wheels, restored brake lining, restored gearbox, and restored rear axle. All components are in 100%. good condition.
The 6C Spider is prepared for any classic rally, and the next owner can get in and drive it immediately. We are selling the 6C due to our age (70+) , and we are looking for a more comfortable Alfa 6C.
Market based price, negotiable alongside the 6C at location. Trade in of more comfortable classic Alfa is possible.
