All gather for Hershey 2022
Gather round, gather round! Come to Hershey for the Hershey Fall Meet! From today, 4th October, until 7th, the meeting widely known as ‘the largest antique automobile show and flea market in the United States’ will take place in the Pennsylvanian village named after caramel and chocolate maker Milton Hershey, who settled there in 1903.
The Volunteer Fire Company
Mister Hershey encouraged the town’s residents to take an active role establishing and supporting services. There were a YMCA and several literary and social clubs, as well as the Hershey Band and local sports teams. And there was the Volunteer Fire Company, formed in 1905 in the lovely building seen here and provided once again by Mr. Hershey. Is he in the picture himself?
The photograph itself cannot have been taken much later than 1905, too, judging by the men’s clothing (not a woman in sight here) and, of course, the vehicles. They're Fords, we would think, but you may know better than that. And how about those chain-drive trucks with their heavy-duty tyres behind them? Have fun in Hershey, find that long-missing part for your winter project car, and do indulge yourself with a little sweet treat from the estate of Mr. Hershey.
The PreWarCar.com team will be there, so please let us know if you will be there too.
