Austin Ten Drivers Club Spring Social

Press release

The inaugural Austin Ten Drivers' Club Spring Social was held at the Atwell Wilson Motor Museum in Calne, Wiltshire, on Sunday, 26th May.  The museum houses a collection of over a hundred exhibits including cars, motorcycles, mopeds and bicycles from the 1920s onwards, and is certainly one to add to your list of places to visit if you have never been.

The day started with some sunshine, but the forecast was not promising. This did not deter everyone, and we were joined by some of our club members in their pre-war Austins along with members of the White Horse Classic Vehicle Enthusiasts and the Bristol Area MG Owners' Club. The variety of vehicles on display, along with the exhibits in the museum, meant that there was something to look at whatever your tastes and interests.

The Social lived up to its name, with attendees getting to know one another, showing each other around their cars and chatting about their experiences with their vehicles. The event was also an opportunity for our members to show the owners of the newer classics on display, and the general public, around a pre-war Austin, perhaps inspiring them to own something a little older and to join our club of Austineers in the future.

We would like to thank the Atwell Wilson Motor Museum for being a fantastic venue and to thank those who attended our event.

The A.T.D.C. is hoping to hold another social event soon. The invitation to join our event will be extended to all classic car owners and clubs, please do come along if you can!
