Augé cars were powered by the Cyclope engine, so called because the original models used hot-tube ignition, the platinum tubes being heated with one lamp. From 1899 electric ignition was used for the 4hp horizontal 2-cylinder engine on the Augé cars for sale Transmission was by belts to a countershaft and final drive was by chain. Later Augé models used engines of 5, 7 or 8hp, both horizontal and vertical. Body styles included a three-seater known as the troika. Sometimes the Augé cars were listed under the name Cyclope.
