The Auto Red bug is sometimes listed as the Red Bug or Buckboard, this vehicle was the Briggs & Stratton Buckboard redesigned with an electric motor powered by a 12 volt battery driving the nearside rear wheel. A brake acted on the opposite rear wheel. Otherwise the Auto Red Bug offered no more amenities than the Briggs & Stratton, but at least it was quieter. The Auto Red Bug name was also applied to the petrol-engined Buckboard.
