The first G.A.R. was a cyclecar with a 2-cylinder engine, but the bulk of the GAR company’s production was devoted to small GAR sports cars which were often entered for races. These GAR cars had engines by Chapuis-Dornier (961 and 1.095cc), which were available in supercharged form, or S.C.A.P. (1.492 straight-8), and also used their own single ohc engines of 735cc 4-cylinder, or 1.375cc straight-8. Two 4-cylinder GAR models were built under licence in Italy, initially as G.A.R.s, then under the name C.A.R.
