The firm of Niclausse were well-known boiler makers, and cars were never more than a sideline for them. Their first Niclausse car had a 30/40hp 4-cylinder T-head engine with separately-cast cylinders and shaft drive. This Niclausse car was continued throughout the maker’s lifetime, although the designation changed to 35/50hp later on. Smaller Niclausse cars of 12/16 and 20/30hp were introduced in 1909, the former a Monobloc four, the latter with pair-cast cylinders. These Niclausse carmodels, too, were continued without major change until 1914.
