Noé Boyer was the commercial director of the Phébus car branch of the Clément-Gladiator & Humber Ltd, makers of bicycles and Phebus tricycles. Phébus motor tricycles (or Phebus trikes) had been made for a few years when the first Phébus-Aster car appeared. This Phebus car was a light two-seater voiturette powered by a 3½hp Aster engine, with 2 speeds and spur-gear drive. The first Phebus cars imported to England were called Automobilettes; these Phebus cars had 2¼hp engines and no bonnets.
The Phébus cyclecar had a 2-cylinder engine, and this Phebus car was probably only built in prototype form.
