The Röhr car firm produced their cars in the former Falcon plants. The first model Röhr car was the Röhr Type R of 1928 which was a sensation when it was introduced. A sheet-steel platform frame allowed a low centre of gravity and light weight of the Röhr car. Suspension of the Röhr car was by two transverse leaf springs for the front and semi-elliptic springs for the rear axle. The straight-8 engine of 2.262cc developed 50hp. H.G. Röhr was not able to make a success of this advanced Röhr car and had to resign from his Röhr car firm in 1930. He was engaged by Adler and later went to Mercedes-Benz. The f Röhr car irm was re-established by a group of financiers. The 1931 Type RA Röhr car had a 2.5-litre engine. A number of 2¼-litre engines and chassis were imported into the United Kingdom by Hampton who after assembling the Röhr cars and fitting their own bodies and radiators sold them as the Hampton R. It is said that 50 Röhr car chassis and 100 engines were ordered, but it is unlikely that more than half a dozen Röhr cars were delivered. The Type F Röhr car of 1932 had an 8-cylinder 3.287cc 75bhp engine. A small series of the Olympier version of this Röhr car, designed by Porsche, was also produced. The engine output was increased to 100bhp, or 140bhp with a Roots blower.
In 1932 Röhr cars acquired a Tatra licence and introduced the Röhr Junior with a 4-cylinder opposed engine of 1.486cc and 30bhp, centre tubular chassis and independent suspension. This model Röhr car was produced from 1932 to 1935 but new financial troubles resulted in production of this promising Röhr car coming to an end. The Tatra licence was taken over by Stoewer who also bought up a number of half-finished Röhr Junior cars, which after completion were distributed by Stoewer as the Greif Junior.
