The Sears car was a high-wheeler built in both passenger and utility versions, for marketing by the Sears, Roebuck mail-order Company. All models Sears car had solid-rubber tyres and 2-cylinder horizontally-opposed air-cooled engines, and the Sears cars were steered by tiller. The most advanced Sears car was the 1911 closed coupé selling for $485. Some 3.500 Sears cars were sold. The Sears car firm made a brief return to the mail-order car business in 1952.
