Identification assistance please

Letters to the editor

Hi there,

I recently came across this photograph among my grandparents’ belongings.

From what I can tell, the photo was taken at Lake Rotoma in New Zealand’s central North Island around 1919.

The car on the left appears to be a Cadillac, but I have been unable to identify the other two. Is the car in the middle possibly a Daimler?

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Mike Worrall

Reo and Chalmers cars were made in Canada to be sold in countries of the British Empire.

Sorry Steve, to have to correct you, but the car on the right is a 1915 Chalmers Light Six. The car in the middle is of course a Daimler, and like the Cadillac from about 1914.

Yes, the one on the left is a Cadillac and the one on the right is a Hupmobile. Both are Canadian built.
