One of the most important collections of motoring images? If not THE most important? It includes photographs and postcards of cars, commercial vehicles, cyclecars, motorcycles, racing cars, trials, rallies and racing, period garages and workshops and motor accidents. And, from the very earliest days of motoring to the early post-war era, motoring historian Tim Harding collected them all! We have seen many amazing, historically important, images before, but this collection is truly superlative.

A lifetime of collecting motoring photographs

Tim Harding had an encyclopaedic knowledge of early vehicle marques and collected well over 20,000 motoring images during his lifetime. Sadly, he passed away in 2018 and part of his collection is now being sold by Toovey’s. On Wednesday 27 October 2021, the first of two auctions will be held in Washington, West Sussex, United Kingdom.
