Falling in Love Again

You may not recognize them at first glance, but the women in this photo were well-known celebrities in the vintage era. They are the Brox Sisters—Lorayne (born in 1901), Dagmar (1902), and Patricia (1904)—originally from the USA.

The Brox Sisters were a close-harmony vocal trio who captivated audiences with their performances. Although born in Kentucky and Tennessee, they grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Their real last name was Brock, but they performed on stage as the Brox Sisters.

They recorded several albums and also starred in Broadway musicals. One of their most famous songs, Falling in Love Again, was recorded in 1932. This very song seems to be playing in the scene captured in the photo.

Many of our readers may have had a pedal car as children—or perhaps purchased one for their own children or grandchildren, hoping to pass on their passion for vintage automobiles.

A date, "June 6, 1911," appears in the corner of the photo. However, given the sisters' ages at that time, this seems unlikely. Further research led us to a photoshoot from around 1920, featuring the same setting and outfits, which seems a more plausible timeframe for this image.
