From London to Brighton through to leafy country lanes and picturesque villages, crowds of spectators - some happily settling in for the day with picnics - cheered on the participants on Sunday's RM Sotheby’s Veteran Car Run. Rain didn't dampen the spirits of the 384 veteran vehicles that converged on Hyde Park at dawn and, buoyed up by cheers and waving from the crowds, spirits lifted even higher as the sun broke out during the day, resulting in a wonderfully sunny arrival for the 340 finishers in Brighton.
Following on from the success of the St James's Motoring Spectacle on Saturday, the Veteran Car Run really was the icing on the cake of a magical weekend, as evidenced by the highlights video above and this selection of images from the Run.
Our heartfelt thanks go to all who brought their wonderful veteran cars, cycles and motorcycles, the army of volunteers who marshalled the event with such enthusiasm, enabling it to run safely and smoothly for all concerned, and to the spectators, whose joy in watching the Run go past was such an enormous source of pleasure to all who took part.
With warmest wishes
The Veteran Car Run Team
