Pebble Beach, Look Out! There's a new contender on the Concours d'Elegance scene: the new one at Windsor Castle in the UK. The sea at Monterey looks good, but an even better backdrop for a concours looks to be the Windsor Castle that, with the gracious permission of Her Majesty The Queen, was used as the location for the first Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance that took place during the weekend of September 7-9. Some sixty cars took part, all of excellent quality. Apart from the concours cars there were also several displays by numerous car clubs. The Aston Martin Owners Club also brought 60 cars which were displayed in a timeline to represent each year of HM The Queen's reign. Members of the Bentley Drivers Club, Jaguar Drivers Club, Ferrari Owners Club, Marcos Owners Club and TVR Car Club also joined in the celebrations on Saturday and Sunday, giving visitors the chance to see over 800 cars. The first ever winner of the Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance Trophy is Mr Jon Shirley with his 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Touring Berlinetta. We are already looking forward to next year's edition!
