Letter to the editor

Hello. My name is Pablo. I inherited this car from my grandfather, It is a Hillman Minx 1932 two seats. I am trying to put together its history. I wonder How many were manufactured, Which was the original color and the match number. Any information  that you can provide me will be welcome.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hello Pablo,

I️ just now saw your request for information on your 1932 Hillman Minx Sport Beetleback. It is not an Aero Minx. I️ know a lot of information on these cars as I️ have been restoring, for the past 5 years, a 1934 model , that is basically the same except for a few items. I️ would be interested in some pictures of your car to help with my restoration. Please contact me if you are still interested in sharing information.

Jon

Dear Mike
Thank you for your suggestion. The last year I tried to contact aero minx register but I got no response. Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Dear Tyrol
I believe that the production dates from the year 1932. I have a brochure , and pictures taken in the Carbodi gardens. In both
the color is beige.
The editor has sent me your email. Let’s keep in touch!

Hello Pablo
Your car is a 1935 or 36 Hillman minx two seater sports. According to the sales brochure it was available only in two tone green.
A couple of years ago I had a conversation with someone from England, stating that his two seater sports is one of three known surviors. This is what the club believed. So mine was the fourth! Yours will be number five. But I am sorry I have no idea how many they buildt. The Aero version is a bit different.
Mine is still green, underneath it seems to be the original, very bright green of the body, the fenders should be a darker shade.

Maybee the editor can forward my email adress.
regards from Tyrol
Thomas

The Hillman Aero Minx Register might be a good starting point to enquire. Although it looks like a one off coachbuilt version rather than an Aero Minx but looks very nice.
