Announcement: Introduction to the Highest Bid Platform

You’ve got a shed full of parts and they’re no good to you, but you know they’re worth a lot to someone, somewhere. You’d like to sell them, ideally to the right enthusiast, and, of course, at a fair market price. But what exactly is that market price for your pre-war parts? We are proud to introduce our Highest Bid platform, specifically designed to answer that question.
From today, it will operate on PreWarCar.com so you can sell your pre-war parts at the right price. This platform helps sellers get their money’s worth for their unwanted spares and gives buyers an opportunity to find rare and long-sought parts, all in a transparent and fair manner.

Discover the power of the market and place your bid on the finest pre-war parts.

How does it work?

The system is simple. When you create a parts-for-sale listing, you can choose between a fixed asking price or Highest Bid. If you opt for Highest Bid, you set the bidding period (7, 14 or 21 days) during which interested buyers can place bids on your item. Once the bidding period ends, you will know the market value of your item and have a buyer. The transaction—including payment and shipping—is arranged directly between you and the buyer.

The cost of using the Highest Bid platform is 5% of the selling price. This amount is paid directly viâ the website, after which you receive the buyer's contact details. Transparent and fair, just as you expect from us.

Would you like to set a minimum price? You can enter a reserve price, for which a small prepayment of the listing fee is required. If the bidding period ends with the highest bid below your reserve price, you can still choose to accept it. If not, your listing will automatically be converted into a regular advert for one month, with your reserve price set as the asking price.

How to register?

To create a listing, you need an account on PreWarCar.com or PostWarClassic.com. However, to post a Highest Bid listing or place a bid, an additional verification step is required (which can be done in your account).

This verification is completed viâ a small payment, confirming your identity. If you have advertised as a paying user on our website in recent years, this verification has already been processed automatically, and no further action is needed.

Once verified, you can quickly and easily create a listing by following the steps in the system. Please note: every advert is reviewed by the PreWarCar.com team before being published online.

How to place a bid?

Once your account has been verified, you can place a bid on any Highest Bid listing. Simply enter your bid amount, read and accept the terms and conditions, and your bid will be submitted.

Not available to bid manually? You can use our bidding assistant, which will automatically place bids for you up to a pre-set maximum amount.

When the bidding period ends and you have placed the highest bid, the seller will contact you directly to arrange payment and shipping.

Other Updates

Alongside the launch of the Highest Bid platform, we have introduced a few additional improvements.

1. Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)
We have added a dedicated F.A.Q. page, which you can find here. This section covers common questions about our website and the Highest Bid platform. If you still have queries, feel free to contact our team at office@prewarcar.com.

2. User Reviews
We are also introducing user reviews! Each advertiser will receive a star rating based on feedback from other users. This feature enhances transparency and fairness, helping to build a more trustworthy marketplace. Your feedback plays a key rôle in maintaining the credibility of sellers.

We value your feedback!

While we have done our best to test the system thoroughly, there may still be minor issues that have gone unnoticed. If you come across anything, we would greatly appreciate your help in reporting it to us. You can do so viâ our contact form or directly viâ office@prewarcar.com.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Excellent idea. Why not start a special wanted section as well to make it easier for sellers to find buyers?

Morning Richard,

This is already possible. If you go to your advertising overview page, you'll find the numbers behind the ? on the right.
Please know that not all accounts are open to it so if it is not visible, send an email to office@prewarcar.com

I don't see a reason to justify the change.

Dear Horacio,

Thank you for your comment. Can you tell me what exactly you don't like?
FYI, this is an addition to the current website, so you can still advertise in the way as in the past for a fixed asking price.

Kind regards, Laurens Klein
