Join us live at the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run 2025

All aboard the Clement-Panhard Express
This morning we lit the oil lamps, opened the fuel tap, gave the primer a few pumps, set the ignition and with a firm crank brought the engine to life. And then – off to Hyde Park! Where we joined over 400 fellow enthusiasts at the start line.

The camera is now rolling, and we warmly invite you to join the ride. Not on a shivering single-cylinder in the cold, but comfortably from your own living room. Pour yourself a cup of hot tea or coffee, while we engage first gear and chug through London on our way to Brighton.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!

Sorry to hear of the problems and that the tyre demon got the better of you. We did pass you and wondered what the problem was. Hope the rim wasn't damaged at all. Better luck next time and we'll see you on Maderia Drive.

The Berliet wasn't happy in the traffic and I wondered if we would get there but thankfully did, albeit an hour later than normal.

Unfortunately, the livestream didn’t go entirely as planned. The rain got the better of modern technology and brought the broadcast to an early end. Our car, apart from a broken ignition coil connection at the start, performed well mechanically. Sadly, just after Red Hill, the solid left rear tire came apart and shattered. Despite our attempts to repair it, we couldn’t continue. We’ll be back stronger next year!

Typical weather for a Brighton Run and do hope you get there trouble free. I know what it is like to drive an early veteran in horizontal rain - we had an 1899 Decauville which did 54 events, always finishing, and I drove it about 15 times as well on this Run. A nightmare getting out of London and has not improved with time.
Many thanks for the video - wonderful idea!
