If you follow collectible auctions in America, you may perhaps have seen that Heritage Auctions is selling an edition of Action Comics No. 1, from June, 1938. This particular comic is famous for introducing the character of Superman to the world and, the enthusiasts say, bringing about the "golden age of comic books."

I thought it might be of interest to readers for the eye-catching automotive-themed cover art. Of course, the car is just a generic late 1930s American sedan but, even so, one winces to see Clark Kent brutalising it so...

I thought it might look nice framed and employed as a decorative wall furnishing for an Americana collector's motor house, but since bidding is currently up to $4,250,000, or $5,100,000 (£4,375,000) post-premium, perhaps not...
