Exhibited in Maastricht: the Alfa Romeo 8C that gave us goosebumps

It was about ten years ago that we were driving through a small village in northern France when the sound of a supercharged eight-cylinder engine echoed between the houses and sent goosebumps down our arms. It turned out to be an Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza — and as chance would have it, that very car will be shining on our stand at InterClassics Maastricht this week.

This car holds fond memories for me, late summer 1992, Waltham Cross, Herts, UK.
I had just found work at Paul Grists Traction Seabert, and this Monza was my introduction to these fabulous machines. A later high speed winter drive with Terry Butler( I'm sure he was showing off ) and my mind was made up, I had to have some more of these. And so it has come to pass. A small factory in Auckland NZ, Alfa Romeo 8C2300 has been my life blood for 34 years. It has been written recently 'Colin Howard makes the best 8C 2300 Alfa Romeo parts.' I'll take that.
