We have just returned from a week in Paris and, as you have probably read on our websites, Facebook and Instagram, it was a wonderful week. To be honest, we did not know what to expect this year because of the postponement of the event, COVID, the current situation in Ukraine and the change of location (Halls) in the Parc des Expositions. The latter made it a challenge for visitors to find their way through the maze called ‘Salon Rétromobile’.

Artcurial occupied almost half of Hall 7.2 with the most amazing cars, motorbikes and automobilia. Ranging from the earliest days of motoring history to the latest electric Ferraris, the number of lots was astonishing and were auctioned over three days.

Apart from the auction house, there seemed to be many small stands. Certainly some of the well-known clubs and companies that normally take up quite a lot of space to display their collections were missing.

Having said that, we were pleasantly surprised by the number of visitors, especially at the weekend when the French visited the expo, as they do every year. During the first few days, we spoke to many enthusiasts, dealers and some well-known faces, literally from all around the world. Despite the fact that we had not seen each other for several months, we soon felt at home again. There was a great gathering of old friends at the PreWarCar.com and PostWarClassic.com stand and, just like the little red 1965 Peel Trident, we made many new friends in France. Our team spoke to many enthusiasts, who all had great stories and experiences to relate. We received feedback on the websites and shared our passion. The beautiful Alfa Romeo on the stand has been sold and is going to a new home.
