Over 400 participants already registered for the 2025 Veteran Car Run

Press release

Dear Friends of the Veteran Car Run,

We are delighted to confirm that, with two weeks to go until Standard Entries for the Run close on 17 September, entries have already exceeded the 400-mark. The entry list, complete with start numbers, is now published on our website. As you can see, a spectacular gathering is promised for Sunday 2 November!

Registration remains open, but we encourage you to register soon. Please visit the registration page to complete your entry.

We have been working with the Royal Parks to ensure that the Hyde Park Start, which has been a feature of the event since 1936, causes minimal disruption to the historic site, and are pleased to have agreed a solution to futureproof the event’s start.

This  year the start of the Run will relocate from Serpentine Road to South Carriage Drive. This road runs parallel to Serpentine Road - so you will still enter and leave the Park from the traditional, much-loved locations of Alexandra and Victoria Gates and Apsley Gate - and has the advantage that it is a wider, smoother and a better-lit carriageway, which makes the entire pre-dawn gathering safer and easier to manage for both participants and spectators.
In the early 19th century it was the height of fashion for the members of high society to parade their finest horses and carriages on South Carriage Drive and we look forward to seeing the finest pioneering horseless carriages on parade there on Sunday 2 November.

Do Not Forget Those Additional Extras
We would like to remind you to please purchase any Additional Extras by Friday 19 September to ensure they are included in your Participant Pack which we will be with you next month. If you did not do this when you registered for the Run, you can do so now by logging into the entry area and selecting the extras you require.
These include tender parking, additional participant passes, Williams & Yates luggage transfers, and tickets for the Veteran Car Concours lunch on Saturday, 1 November.

Safety on the Run – Independent Vehicle Checks
We would like to remind all entrants that it is their responsibility to ensure the vehicle they are driving has been properly prepared and maintained by someone with experience in veteran vehicles and entrants should consider whether an MOT would be advisable. All vehicles must be roadworthy and meet the legal requirements to run on public roads in the UK. It is always recommended that an independent test for vital components is made on a regular basis. For further safety information for the event, please see the Safety on the Run page on our website.

Share Your Stories...
As we prepare for the big day, we would love to hear your memories of past Runs. Maybe it is a family tradition passed through generations, a clever fix that saved the day or a moment that captures the Run’s famous camaraderie. Email your stories to the Veteran Car Run team and let us know what stands out most in your memory.

...And Share Your Car's History
When veteran cars, motorcycles, or cycles turn heads, people naturally want to know more. A Car Facts Disc lets your vehicle tell its unique story. Owners can easily upload photos and videos in chronological order, make quick updates, and spectators simply scan the disc’s QR code to learn more. Every vehicle in the Veteran Car Run and St James’s Motoring Spectacle will display one and additional discs are available from the Royal Automobile Club’s Pall Mall clubhouse or the Online Club Shop.

With best wishes
The Veteran Car Run Team
