Few events on the pre-war calendar are as well-loved as Vintage Revival Montlhéry, the biennial celebration of all pre-war cars - the fast, the slow, the weird and the wonderful - at the atmospheric Montlhéry banked circuit which celebrates its centenary in 2024.
Some people say it's the best event of the year, and others would even go so far as to say it's the best event ever. The reason for that is because it exudes enthusiasm. This is not an event where people come to speculate on prices or spend five hours polishing chrome in the hope of winning a cup; VRM prizes originality, ingenuity and eccentricity above all else, and if we couldn't get together at Montlhéry every two years to discuss Truffaults and Tractas, we'd probably end up wandering around, shaking our heads and bleating confusedly like a load of lost lambs.
Unfortunately, like most great parties, the work and outlay required to pull VRM off is considerable, and organizers Freddie Frot and Vincent Chamon are requesting your generous assistance in order to be able to bring the event back for Montlhéry's centenary next year.
To that end, they have started a fund-raising drive, to which anyone who can spare a penny or two is invited to make a contribution. Details may be found here.
Please give generously if you can, and we'll look forward to what we're sure will be one of the best VRMs yet.
