Alvis Speed 25 'Charlesworth' DHC, year 1936.
This beautiful Alvis Speed 25 is in a unique and beautifully preserved original condition! The car was sold new in the United Kingdom and imported to the Netherlands in the past. This very special 'survivor' is mechanically and technically completely sound and drives excellently. Alvis was a highly respected and innovative car manufacturer in the 30s and 20s. They were among the first to experiment with front-wheel drive (racing) cars and the company produced all major components in-house. Alvis was one of the first British manufacturers to offer fully synchronized gearboxes, a feature also present on this beautiful Speed 25. The Alvis Speed 20 and Speed 25 model series offered the best money could buy in the upper segment of the market. The ride comfort, handling, and handling of these Alvis cars are sublime and unmatched by other comparable British models of the period. Only the much more expensive, top-of-the-line cars such as Rolls-Royce and the 'Derby' Bentley (MK IV) could match the level of engineering and ease of use. Even now, ninety years after purchase, you can experience the quality and enjoy the ease of use. A total of 391 Alvis Speed 25 chassis were produced, 329 of which were fitted with Charlesworth coachwork. Of these 329 cars, 62 were DHC (Drophead Coupé) models. This superbly original example comes with a very extensive and complete history file, and the car is technically and mechanically in perfect order. This beautiful Alvis recently won the award for best pre-war classic at the InterClassics car show in Maastricht. This prize, including trophy and certificate, will be presented to the new owner!
