This 1923 Bentley 3 Litre is a rare and desirable TT model, the pre-cursor to the Speed Model. Just 71 of these cars were built in short chassis configuration to commemorate Bentley’s success at the Tourist Trophy, making them the first specialized chassis for customer consumption. 

Completed in August 1923, this TT Bentley was fitted new with a very sporting roadster body by London coachbuilder A.H. Storey & Sons - the coachwork the car retains to this day. 

In 1947, chassis 339 was acquired by Bentley enthusiast and club member Mark Hollis. The short-chassis TT was put to use in club racing and rally events for decades in his car. Fitted with a slightly later engine (No. 719) along with a later steering box, twin carburetors and some other upgrades, chassis 339 proved a competitive car. According to Hollis, chassis 339 has the distinction of being the only 3 Litre ever to have won the BDC’s top aware - the Rolls-Royce Challenge Trophy in 1956. 

Complete with old photographers, event memorabilia and the patina of decades of sporting use, the Bentley was acquired in 2023 after 76 years of single-ownership. We have since imported the Bentley to the US and found it to be in remarkably sound shape overall. This is a truly special and sporting Vintage Bentley at entry level pricing.
