1923 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Alpine Eagle

An extraordinary car with an extraordinary story:

This Silver Ghost was bricked up in a Spanish nobleman's mansion in 1936. It slumbered there untouched until 1986 when the wall entombing it was demolished & the car pulled out in to the Spanish sunlight for the first time in 6 decades. We have pictures of it as it emerged from storage where it was hidden away due to the onset of the Sppnish Civil War.

The car is thus in superbly original condition with the only anomalies being the wings having ben repainted in a dull black finish & new black leather to the drivers quarters; the rear remaining utterly original.

Coachwork is of course the original body as supplied by the Madrid branch of Labourdette. It takes the form of an open drive front with collapsable rear in original japanned leather. We did not put the top down when photographing the car as we would wish to give several treatments of hide food before doing so. We do however have a picture with the roof down.

This is a car with an amazing story & should be entered in the preservation section of any concours events. The car has not been shown & is an exciting discovery fresh to market.

The car starts readily & has a lovely quiet engine. It went to Rolls Royce Madrid in 1933 prior to being laid up & had new pistons & valves installed & a general full overhaul by RR Madrid so has not covered many miles since the rebuild. There is a full bill on file from 1933 detailling the extensive works done to it. Massive amounts of period paperwork come with the car attesting to its provenance. We can provide a photo gallery of this for qualified buyers.

To describe this car as a time warp is frankly an understatement. It resides in a collection in central Spain where it may be viewed by prior appointment.
