1936 Lancia Augusta Saloon – Restoration Project with Original Registration and Documents
Offered for sale is a 1936 Lancia Augusta Saloon, right-hand drive, which has remained within the same family for many years and is now available as an interesting and worthwhile restoration project.
The car belonged to my father, who began restoring it several years ago with the intention of returning it to its original condition. The restoration was subsequently interrupted and never completed. The car is now being offered for sale solely because I do not have the time required to personally manage a restoration of this nature.
One of the most important features of this Augusta is its well-preserved historical identity. The car retains its original four-digit Italian registration plate and original registration document. The chassis and engine numbers correspond with the available documentation.
The body provides a good basis for restoration and has already undergone previous bodywork. The structure appears substantially sound, although a professional inspection and completion of the previous work are naturally recommended before final painting and reassembly.
The engine and the main mechanical components are present. The engine was last started approximately ten years ago and no recent attempt has been made to restart it. The car is therefore offered as a non-running restoration project, and a full mechanical inspection is recommended before any attempt to start or operate the vehicle.
A significant number of original components accompany the car, including glass, windscreen, window mechanisms, bonnet and engine panels, front grille, headlights, front bumper, fuel pump, radiator, fuel tank, dashboard and instruments, spare wheels, jack, starting handle and numerous smaller fittings and components.
The restoration is incomplete. The main missing items are the complete upholstery and seat frames, together with some handles and locks, rear lighting components, seals, interior trim and several smaller finishing details.
This Augusta therefore represents an attractive opportunity for a Lancia enthusiast or pre-war specialist wishing to undertake a correct and sympathetic restoration, beginning with a car that retains its original identity, documentation and a substantial proportion of its original components.
The car is sold in its present condition together with all available parts. Inspection of the vehicle and documentation is welcome before purchase. Additional photographs and information are available on request.
