Invicta 4.5 Litre

Invicta 4½-liter (Series A)

  • Built in 1931 (first registration January 2, 1931, built in 1930).
  • Chassis number A204, engine number 7918.
  • Exterior color Oxford blue combined with a black chassis and black wire wheels.
  • Blue leather interior trimmed with blue carpet and a black mohair hood.

During the 20s, Invicta gained a reputation for performance and handling. With the introduction of the 4½-liter model, a legend was born. This very expensive top-of-the-line model was known as a fast sports car with exceptional acceleration. The Invicta 4½-liter was produced in very limited numbers, and surviving factory and club records indicate that approximately 50 cars were built in total. Production took place between 1930 and 1933, and the model was offered in various versions, including the Low Chassis and the later S-Type. The bodies were supplied by a range of high-quality coachbuilders such as Vanden Plas, Corsica, Lancefield, and others, contributing to the variation in reported numbers. This extremely low production run, combined with the model's advanced engineering and sporting history, explains the Invicta 4½-Litre's reputation as one of the rarest and most desirable British sports cars of the pre-World War II period. The 4½-Litre presented, chassis A204, still features its original four-seat open tourer bodywork, built by Corsica of London. The car has been restored in the past and retains almost all its original details. Under the hood, where the powerful 110 hp Meadows inline six-cylinder engine is located, you'll also find the original central lubrication system and an auxiliary cooling fan. The four-speed gearbox is coupled to a Tim Payne overdrive system. The dashboard boasts a series of beautiful original gauges (including a very unusual fuel gauge) and one gauge from a later model. The interior has been reupholstered in the past and is in excellent condition. This exceptionally rare Invicta 4½-liter A-series car comes from a collection. It drives and functions excellently and comes with a comprehensive history. This Invicta 4½-liter has everything you could wish for: performance, style, and rarity!
