A final opportunity to acquire a 100% original Blower Bentley, newly crafted by the manufacturer itself.
Ninety years after the original Birkin Blowers defined an era, Bentley Mulliner undertook one of the most ambitious heritage projects in the marque’s history: the Blower Continuation Series. Built using original 1920s drawings, period tooling and Bentley’s own Team Car No. 2 as the master reference, these cars are not replicas but true continuations, created with the same spirit and craftsmanship that shaped the originals.
In late 2019 Bentley began the careful disassembly of the historic Birkin Blower from its museum collection in order to study and recreate every detail. Working together with specialist craftsmen and heritage suppliers across the United Kingdom, more than 2,000 individual components were remanufactured using period-correct techniques. The result is a motorcar that bridges past and present with remarkable authenticity.
Production & Exclusivity
Only twelve customer cars were produced worldwide, each allocated to a highly select group of established Bentley patrons. All examples were pre-sold and, under agreement, no further Continuation Blowers will be built by Bentley. A handful were delivered to the United States and only two are believed to have reached the Netherlands, making opportunities to acquire one exceptionally rare. To our knowledge, this is the first example to be offered publicly on the international market.
Chassis No. 8 A Unique Commission
This particular car, chassis number 8, was commissioned with an extraordinary level of personal involvement. During a visit to the Bentley museum, the owner noticed a deep dark-red leather shade inside another historic motorcar, a colour not originally offered within the Continuation palette. Captivated by its warmth and character, he immediately requested that Mulliner explore the possibility of applying it to his car. Following historical research confirming its period authenticity, Bentley approved the specification, resulting in a uniquely finished interior that subtly distinguishes this example from the remaining eleven cars.
Craftsmanship & Condition
The level of finish throughout is immaculate, reflecting the precision and care of Mulliner’s coachbuilding division. A comprehensive photographic record documents visits by the owner to Crewe during the assembly process, offering a rare behind-the-scenes view of the creation of one of Bentley’s most significant modern heritage projects. Since delivery, the car has remained in essentially delivery-mileage condition, preserved carefully and unused.
Character & Presence
More than a modern interpretation, the Blower Continuation captures the raw mechanical presence that made the originals legendary. It combines pre-war motorsport heritage with contemporary craftsmanship, offering the visual drama, engineering purity and emotional impact that define the Blower name. Discreet yet unmistakable, it stands as a collector’s piece created for those who understand the significance of authenticity and rarity.
Cars like this appear only rarely on the open market. With its unique specification, exceptional provenance and place within a strictly limited series of twelve, chassis no. 8 represents a singular opportunity for the discerning collector. It is a motorcar that honours the past while remaining firmly relevant to the present, ready to begin its next chapter with a custodian who appreciates the legacy it carries.
