Alvis Speed 25 racecar, bodytype two seater sports, no doors and convertible top. Built on firefly chassis (1935), wheelbase 2.616 mm, track 1.219 mm. Speed 25 engine, capacity 3710 cc, 160 hp. Gearbox alvis four speed, all synchro-mesh. Top speed 100 mph. Three different wheel sets, optional roll bar by Wiechers. Engine complet rebuilt in 2021-24 including new cylinder block, bearings, valve ports and seats, radiator, clutch. Refurbished camshaft, starter, alternator, waterpump.
Extensive Competition History:
In prewar times(1938) car was prepared for hill climbs (Shelsley Welsh). Since the mid 50ties car was successfully raced by its different owners at AMOC, AOC and VSCC events. The most successful drivers have been Peter D. Woodley and John Bishop, who won several VSCC-series and set several lap best times in the respective classes: Shelterton (34,6), Prescot (50,62), Silverstone (1.17,5), Oulton Park (1.54,9), Donnington (1.40,8), Shelsley Walsh (45,70), Mallory Park (1.05,6). Car is well known in british race history by its reg.plate no.: BAY 330
Since 1999 in sellers ownewrship, raced in prominent events: Monthlery, Oldtimer Grand Prix Nürburgring (several podiums), Klausen Hill Climb (1st in 2002, 2nd 2006), Mille Miglia, Ennstal Classic, Silvretta Classic, Saar LoirLux Classic, Langenburg, Gaisberg Hill Climb, Rossfeld Hill Climb …..
