This scarce and attractive Riley convertible was purchased new on 18th July 1939 by Mrs Ethel Jones of The Manor House, St Stephen's, Canterbury, from West End Garage, Boughton and kept in her family ownership until about 25 years ago. It has a wonderful selection of original paperwork, including its original Riley Guarantee certificate, petrol Consumption certificate (31.2 miles per gallon), lubrication and maintenance booklet, sales brochure, handbook and brown log book. It was subject to an extensive restoration in the 1980-90s which has stood up well with only the hood showing some wear; the black paintwork and beige leather upholstery are still in very good order. The current owner's late husband purchased it from us in 2012 and has since had all the brightwork re-chromed. It will require some recommissioning as it has seen little use in recent years. A rare example believed to be one of only four known survivors of a total production of one hundred and fifty Sprite drop head coupes. (Subject to 12% buyers' premium inclusive of VAT).
