Streamliner C-16 – A Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity

Few automobiles capture the imagination quite like the award-winning Streamliner C-16. Inspired by the legendary Mercedes-Benz Streamliners of 1937–1938 and painstakingly handcrafted by Glenn and Kalle Billqvist, this remarkable machine stands as a tribute to the golden age of speed, innovation, and coachbuilding artistry.

Created over more than 8,000 hours of dedicated craftsmanship, the Streamliner C-16 combines engineering excellence with breathtaking design. Its hand-formed steel and aluminium body stretches an impressive 6.2 metres in length and 2.2 metres in width, creating a dramatic aerodynamic silhouette unlike anything else on the road today.

At its heart beats the vehicle's defining feature: a fully functional straight-16-cylinder engine, believed to be unique in the world. Built from two Buick inline-eight engines and fed by four Stromberg carburettors, the 8.2-litre powerplant produces approximately 200 horsepower and delivers a soundtrack unlike any other. Sixteen individual exhaust pipes pay homage to the aircraft-inspired aesthetics and engineering spirit of the pre-war era.

Built on a 1938 Chevrolet truck chassis and featuring period-correct mechanical components throughout, the Streamliner combines authentic vintage engineering with reliable drivability. Rolling on 21-inch steel wheels fitted with Blockley tyres, it commands attention wherever it appears.

Since its completion, the Streamliner C-16 has been invited to some of Europe's most prestigious historic motoring events, including:

•VHRA Hot Rod Races, Pendine Sands, Wales (2022)

•Kilomètre Lancé, St. Moritz, Switzerland (2022)

•Brooklands Museum, Surrey, United Kingdom (2022)

•Custom Motor Show, Elmia, Sweden (2023)

•Classic Days, Düsseldorf, Germany (2023)

•Crossroad Motor Festival #5, Sevilla, Spain (2023)

•Rockin Race Jamboree, Torremolinos, Spain (2024)

More than a vehicle, the Streamliner C-16 is a rolling sculpture, a conversation piece, and a significant chapter of modern automotive craftsmanship. It is ideally suited for a distinguished private collection, museum display, or select historic motoring events.
