1929 Lincoln Model L Sport Phaeton
A masterpiece of American automotive history!
The 1929 Lincoln Model L Sport Phaeton tells the fascinating story of the Lincoln Motor Company and the vision of its founder, Henry Martyn Leland. Originally established to produce aircraft engines for World War I, Leland introduced the first Lincoln automobiles in 1920, quickly earning a reputation for precision and luxury. After financial difficulties, Henry Ford acquired Lincoln in 1922 and elevated it to the prestige label of his company. Under Edsel Ford’s leadership, Lincoln entered a new creative era, making the Model L—and particularly the 1929 Sport Phaeton—an icon of luxury.
This rare Lincoln Model L Sport Phaeton, featuring Locke’s elegant “dual-cowl” design, is one of only 58 examples of Style 163B built in 1929. Equipped with a powerful V8 engine, a three-speed transmission, and a luxurious interior, the Phaeton includes an additional windshield for rear passengers, offering an unparalleled driving experience.
