By 1932, Plymouth had firmly established itself as one of America's best automotive values. That year marked the final appearance of the company's original Silver Dome four-cylinder engine, introduced with Plymouth's 1928 debut as Chrysler Corporation’s entry-level marque. The engine's farewell coincided with a thoroughly modern redesign featuring a longer wheelbase, Chrysler's innovative Free Wheeling transmission as standard equipment, and streamlined styling highlighted by single-piece fenders and a hood extending uninterrupted from the chrome radiator shell to the windshield. The result was an automobile that looked and felt considerably more expensive than its modest $595 price tag, helping cement the 1932 PB's reputation as one of the most handsome Plymouths ever produced.

Among the ten body styles offered for 1932, the rakish Sport Roadster ranked among the most desirable, with just 2,163 examples produced. Finished in tan with contrasting orange coach striping, this Sport Roadster rides on painted wire wheels finished to match the striping and fitted with factory hubcaps and wide whitewall tires. Exterior appointments include the distinctive Plymouth Flying Lady radiator mascot, dual side-mounted spare wheels, a driver's side rearview mirror, and a folding rear luggage rack that enhances both practicality and period charm.
